Turn Any Webhook into iPhone & Android Push Notifications

Updated on October 28, 2026

Forward webhook events from GitHub, CI jobs, and internal tools
to iPhone and Android push notifications with Signalgrid.

If a tool can send a webhook, you already have most of what you need to get a push notification on your phone. Signalgrid gives you a simple way to turn those events into mobile alerts without building your own notification backend.

This works well for deployment events, build failures, internal admin tools, monitoring callbacks, and any service that can send an HTTP request when something interesting happens.

What you need

  • A Signalgrid account
  • Your client key
  • A channel token
  • A service or script that can send webhooks

Option 1: Send directly to Signalgrid

If your tool lets you define a custom webhook body, the simplest setup is usually a direct POST request to the Signalgrid Push API.

Bash
curl -X POST https://api.signalgrid.co/v1/push \ -d "client_key=YOUR_CLIENT_KEY" \ -d "channel=YOUR_CHANNEL_TOKEN" \ -d "title=Webhook Event" \ -d "body=Your webhook event completed successfully." \ -d "type=SUCCESS"

For many services, that is already enough. If the source system can fill in a title and body dynamically, you can route alerts straight to your phone with no extra relay.

Option 2: Use a lightweight webhook relay

If the incoming webhook payload is JSON-heavy or awkward to transform, place a tiny relay in front of Signalgrid. The relay receives the webhook, extracts the useful fields, and forwards a clean push notification.

JavaScript
import express from "express"; const app = express(); app.use(express.json()); app.post("/webhook", async (req, res) => { const title = req.body.title || "Webhook Event"; const body = req.body.message || "A webhook event was received."; await fetch("https://api.signalgrid.co/v1/push", { method: "POST", headers: { "Content-Type": "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" }, body: new URLSearchParams({ client_key: process.env.SIGNALGRID_CLIENT_KEY, channel: process.env.SIGNALGRID_CHANNEL, title, body, type: "INFO", }), }); res.status(204).send(); }); app.listen(3000);

Test the relay

Once the relay is running, send it a sample payload to make sure the notification shows up on your device.

Bash
curl -X POST http://localhost:3000/webhook \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"title":"Deploy finished","message":"Production release 2026.10.28 completed."}'

Good fits for this pattern

  • GitHub and CI/CD webhooks
  • Internal admin tools and dashboards
  • Monitoring systems with generic webhook support
  • Simple workflow tools that need phone alerts without a full mobile app integration
